Volunteer to be part of an organization focused on developing and supporting Florida firefighters and their families! The mission of the Florida Fire Chiefs' Foundation (FFCF) is to provide educational opportunities, including scholarships, to fire and emergency services professionals, as well as future firefighting candidates, develop public relations programs to promote and raise public awareness of Florida's fire and emergency services; to assist other related organizations in the development and implementation of public education programs and provide scholarships to educate fire service personnel on the latest public safety methods and techniques.
The Foundation is currently seeking to fill four (4) vacancies on its Board of Trustees. All applicants will be considered initially as Trustee members; however, the Foundation is seeking interest for both the Vice Chair and Secretary/Treasurer positions as well.
The Foundation is undergoing a transitional period, and we are looking for individuals who will be active participants who will have the time or capacity to dedicate to organizational initiatives, and help the Foundation to:
- Identify ways to serve the Florida fire service through charitable efforts
- Participate in fundraising and applying for grants
- Review of budget and finances to ensure compliance, transparency and solvency
- Provide oversight and give direction when necessary to help the Foundation achieve its mission and objectives
In order to be considered for a position on the Board of Trustees, please complete the online application which includes a brief questionnaire. You do not have to be part of the fire service to serve on the Board of Trustees, however, a knowledge or familiarity of public safety is preferred. The application process includes the ability to load a supporting document such as a cover letter, resume or references.
The application process closed on June 14, 2024. The Board of Trustees will review all applications and make a determination before the Executive Development Conference where Trustee members will be requested to attend the in-person meeting on July 19, 2024 at the Tampa Marriott Water Street.
