EVT Training Academy

Emergency Vehicle Technicians (EVT) perform maintenance on emergency automobiles and apparatuses within the Fire Service. These technicians are required to attend training and obtain certification to service these complex and life-saving vehicles. The EVT Training Academy works to provide educational courses immediately followed by certification/recertification exams scheduled through the Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Commission, Inc. (EVTCC). Currently, we are offering limited regional training events with the goal to offer a range of classes at the Florida Fire Conference in January, and return to the EVT Training Academy in May 2025.

F1 – Maintenance, Inspection, and Testing of Fire Apparatus
 covers the maintenance, inspection, and testing of fire apparatus as described in NFPA 1910: Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Refurbishment, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Emergency Vehicles and Marine Firefighting Vessels (NFPA 1911 Chapters)
E0 – Maintenance, Inspection, and Testing of Ambulances covers the maintenance, inspection, and testing of ambulances as covered in Meritor Preventive Maintenance and Lubrication, and NFPA 1910: Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Refurbishment, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Emergency Vehicles and Marine Firefighting Vessels (NFPA 1911 Chapters)
